Dr. Dennis J. Slamon, M.D., Ph.D., is an Independent Director of Biomarin Pharmaceutical Inc. Dr. Slamon joined our Board in March 2014. Dr. Slamon has served as Director of Clinical/Translational Research at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center since June 1995 and has served as leader of the Revlon/UCLA Women’s Cancer Research Program at UCLA since its establishment in 1991. Since May 1996, Dr. Slamon has been a professor of medicine and Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the UCLA Department of Medicine and executive vice chair for research for UCLA’s Department of Medicine.
